EQUI-LIFE SPRING FEVER

EQUI-LIFE SPRING FEVER HUNTER HACK SHOW

We once again were able to pull off a super successful and fun schooling show at the Kelowna Riding Club. Most of our team competed in the show from those just starting in their first EVER competition, to those starting new partnerships with new horses, as well as some veteran riders schooling and preparing for the up coming show season. Everyone rode great and as usual had a blast! Super proud of our entire team and thank you to all who came out to help run the show!

KELOWNA RIDING CLUB SPRING CLASSIC H/J SHOW

KRC SPRING CLASSIC H/J SHOW

This year, Jesse, Emma, myself, and a number of amazing clients and friends took on the job of organizing this huge event for the KRC. We worked hard all winter and early spring, and it totally paid off with an absolutely fabulous week of showing and entertaining the competitors.

Our team of riders did extremely well with a girls competing in both the hunters and jumpers. It is so nice to have the opportunity to compete at a rated show in our own back yard, and the horses are always so relaxed and perform at their best.

We completely lucked out with the weather, with no torrential downpours!

Thank you again to the Spring Classic Committee, Tracey Green, Lisa Mabey, Gayle Faigan, Emma Bosma, Jesse Legroulx, Tracey Head, Amy Nutt, and many other friends who helped out! You were all so amazing and fun to work with!

SAD GOODBYES TO AUSTIN AND DIVA

SAD GOODBYES TO EQUI-LIFE'S AUSTIN AND DIVA

This month, Equi-Life said goodbye to two very special horses that have been a part of the family for a long time. Austin was sold to a talented young up and coming rider named Summer James. He left for his new home in Langley, and we look forward to seeing him at horse shows with his new rider! After spending four years in our program, Diva returned home to her owner Christina McWilliams, also in Langley. Both these "save the day" kind of horses have been a huge part of the Equi-Life team, and have touched the careers of almost all of our riders at one time or another. It was very sad to say goodbye to both of them, but we know that they are going to spend the next chapter of their horse lives with some great owners!

NEW HORSES TO WELCOME TO THE TEAM

NEW HORSES TO WELCOME TO THE TEAM

Equi-Life Sport Horses welcomed a few new (and old!) horsey faces to the team this month! We were excited to have the palomino wonder pony Paisley join our program for the season; she will definitely make some little girls very happy! Tatjana Gjesdal and the rest of the team were thrilled to welcome Legacy, Tatjana's beautiful new lease horse. They have been working hard together already, and it looks to be the start of a great partnership! Kiera Mabey has also been getting acquainted with her new lease horse Ascott, a handsome Thoroughbred gelding. This perfect gentleman looks like he has a wealth of knowledge to pass on to new riders! Our latest addition is Doc, a new lease horse for Neve Lovelady! Doc and Neve seemed to hit it off right away after their first ride together. Equi-Life is also pleased to welcome new team members Lynette and Svea Hay, and their horses Angel and Icis to the team. With our team growing and improving all the time, it looks like it's going to be an excellent season.

KELOWNA RIDING CLUB SPRING CLEAN UP

KELOWNA RIDING CLUB SPRING CLEAN UP

With the KRC Spring Classic only a couple of weeks away, the KRC hosted it's Spring Cleanup day last weekend to get the club spruced up. There was an AMAZING turnout, with a huge number of Equi-Life riders coming out to support the club. Everyone worked together to accomplish a huge amount of work; fencing, the jump shed, and the hunter jumps all got a fresh coat of paint, the leaves got raked away, and inventory off all the jumps was taken. Everybody got to enjoy a delicious hot dog BBQ for lunch before finishing the days work.

PUB NIGHT FUNDRAISER AND KID'S SPRING FLING

PUB NIGHT FUNDRAISER AND KID'S SPRING FLING

Spring is in the air in the Okanagan, and that means the start of all the fun horse events of be year! With the horse show season just around the corner, the Kelowna Riding Club decided to kick start the year with two exciting fundraiser events. The KRC organized both a Pub Night fundraiser, as well as a Junior Spring Fling, in support of the upcoming Kelowna Spring Classic Hunter/Jumper Show April 24-27. Both events were held in conjunction on the night of April 5th, and both were a tremendous success. The Pub Night was hosted by the Mission Taphouse on Lakeshore Rd in Kelowna. Over 95 riders and friends were in attendance, and got to enjoy a wide variety of delicious appetizers, a huge silent auction, and live music by Wild Son. It was a great occasion for horse enthusiasts to come together in support of the local horse community. Close by at the Kelowna Riding Club, the under 19 members of the horse community had a wild night of their own; over 40 junior members of the horse community came out for the Spring Fling. New friendships were made as horse crazy girls (and boys!) bonded over games, including a garbage bag "Trashion Show." These events could not have been made possible without the support of the Mission Taphouse, the sponsors generously donated items for the silent auction, and the hours of work put in by a number of KRC volunteers. The Kelowna Riding Club hopes to see everyone at the Spring Classic Hunter/Jumper Show, and we are looking forward to a great show!
